BRIEF HISTORY ON WINN

Women In the New Nigeria & Youth Empowerment Initiative (WINN) is a non-governmental not-for-profit interfaith organization that seeks to change the battered image of our dear country Nigeria by empowering and changing the mind set of women and youth through trainings, skills acquisition, personal development program, workshops, health care services, advocacy, community responsibility programmes ( such as Girl-Child Time-out in schools, sanitation, free healthcare delivery),  and many more.

WINN emphasizes training and re-orientation, as the special means & approach for individual changes in attitude, positively transforming lives even to the world at large. WINN celebrates Nigeria through the years that roll by, and promotes Nigeria’s future with focus ‘the change starts with us, the change starts now’. Women In New Nigeria collaborates with government agencies such as SMEDAN, BOI, NDE, NEPC, Min of Women Affairs, EFCC, INEC, NGOs like IWAYEC, Mother & Child Enhancement Foundation, Bussiness and Professional Women (BPW) and international such as KAIDO, British Council, to organize programmes that will benefit women and youth in our society

This organization was birthed out of 12 month prayer assignment tagged “Nation’s Call to Prayer” which took place from March 2010 to March 2011 which tells us that WINN has been in existence for 4years and has done marvelously amazing things that changed the lives of women and youth, and has accomplish a lot, even more than  expected/it proposed to do for the communities  since inception September 21 2010 just barely 5 years… so many lives touched, so many communities transformed that cannot be listed  ( refer to achievements at the end of this intro). In its few years of existence, WINN has spent so much on its programmes all from one purse. We have over 5000 members most especially grassroot women and youth across the country and well represented in over 20 states in Nigeria. ..

We also have WINN in Diaspora, we have WINW. UK, Ghana, Serria leon, Liberia, Chad Cameroun and South Africa.

All around the world women and children are the victims of wars, insurgency, earthquakes, abuse e.t.c. they are  left so helpless, we have to take up the challenge as a church, as an organization, as an individual & make a change in the lives of these women/girls.  WINN stands by this adage if you empower a woman/girl you empower the whole nation.
